Born Deborah Clearbranch in Savannah, Georgia in 1956, Desiree Cousteau never though that she would end up famous for being in pornography. Instead, she started out her career in the early 1970s as a mainstream actress, playing roles in movies like 1974s Caged Heat, about women in prison. Because her mainstream acting career never really took off and her bills were starting to pile up, Desiree Cousteau found herself drawn to the adult industry.

From the mid 1970s to the end of the 1980s, Desiree Cousteau made quite a name for herself in the pornography industry. In 1978, she landed a great role in the movie Pretty Peaches. For her efforts in the movie, Desiree Cousteau took home the Adult Film Association of Americas Best Actress award for that year. In it, Desiree Cousteau played the lead role of Peaches, who was described as a daffy, carefree female who cheerfully plunges through life without any worries.

Throughout her career, Desiree Cousteau gravitated towards acting in roles that required her to be fairly dimwitted. As a result, many of her fans and admirers thought that she actually was a ditz. In real life, Desiree Cousteau is actually a fairly intelligent person (which is illustrated by the way that she managed to make a very decent living by pretending to be another dumb porn star).

Desiree Cousteau even went on to star in a partially autobiographical movie, where she portrayed a reporter trying to keep the men in her office focused on her work, not her sexy body and brain. She ends up out scooping everyone by nabbing an exclusive from a presidential candidate, but she leaves her job anyway. From there, Desiree Cousteau goes on to try her luck as a door to door salesperson, having many wacky encounters along the way. Desiree Cousteau soon leaves that job, only to find work on a luxury yacht where she becomes involved with two adult film stars.

In the end of her biopic, Desiree Cousteau finally accepts that no matter what kind of job she tries, she always ends up having sex with people. As a result of this discovery, Desiree Cousteau begins to warm to the idea of life in the adult film industry. The movie ends with her taking a job as a porn star and living happily ever after.

Yet again proving that she is extremely intelligent, Desiree Cousteau now lives in Georgia where she works as an accredited child psychologist.
