As We Get Older, We All May Suffer From The Problems Of Incontinence

Incontinence is the term given to the inability to control the elimination of urine, which means that people accidentally urinate. up to 3 million people in england suffer from this embarrassing condition, and it is especially common in ladies over 40.

Incontinence happens when the normal routine of passing urine is disrupted. However, urination can be disrupted in a number of different ways, which is why there are a number of kinds of incontinence.

The impact of fluids can be a massive cause of the problem. in fact, a fluid intake that is too large of too small can cause this embarrassing condition. as well as this, caffeinated drinks and alcohol can also cause incontinence in some people.

It is obvious that, the symptoms of incontinence are urinating by accident. However, this can show itself in a number of different ways.

Some incontinence sufferers find that they dribble urine when there is a burst of pressure put on their bladder including when they bend over or cough. on the other hand, other incontinence sufferers may discover that they are leaking urine constantly.

As we've already discussed, there's a number of types of incontinence. These include:

Stress incontinence, which is the most common form of incontinence and one that is widespread in ladies that have had kids. Stress incontinence is when the bladder leaks during coughing, laughing and other stuff that put sudden pressure on the bladder.

Urge incontinence, which is when you know that you want to urinate but you can not hold it in long enough to get to the bathroom in time. as a result, urine can leak as soon as you want to pass it.

Reflex incontinence is another range of the condition and it usually occurs due to a spinal or neurological trauma or disease where there's bit or no voluntary control or sensation of the bladder.

A handful of people may suffer from mixed type incontinence, which means that, for example, sufferers of stress incontinence may develop other strains of the condition.

If you think that you may be suffering from incontinence, there's a number of treatments that are available.

One of the best treatments for incontinence are pelvic floor exercises. These are exercises that can reduce stress or mixed incontinence by strengthening the muscles that start & stop the flow of urine. in order to do these exercises, simply contract these muscles 8 times, 3 times every day.

They may also recommend bladder training. this involves emptying your bladder at certain times. this treatment needs to be followed for six weeks or more to see if it is going to work.

On the other hand, your dr may prescribe a course of medicines to treat the ailment.

You'll also discover that there's a number of incontinence products available that can help you to keep your symptoms under control. These include throw-away panties to help you cope with less severe incontinence and a wide variety of incontinence pads.

You should also find incontinence bed protection and skin care, which means that you'll be able to stay as clean and dry as possible.
