Wedding cake designs are not just limited to plain white wedding cakes with white icing flowers and a plain old wedding cake topper on top anymore. No way, wedding cake designs you'll notice now are showing wedding cakes in all sorts of shapes, designs, colors, and accessories. Wedding cake makers know their jobs; it is part of the service offered - they also need to be at peace - that their cake is proudly sitting on the table for all to see !! Of course there may be the instance that you need to transport yourselves (a very out of town wedding), in this case, ask your cake maker for advice when choosing you cake.

Wedding cake toppers may be an edible decoration incorporated into your wedding cake design by the hands of a skilled designer. They may also be figurines or other creations formed in glass, crystal, porcelain or a variety of other materials. Wedding cakes are very expensive. They are by far one of the big-ticket items of any conventional wedding. Wedding cakes come in a multitude of yummy varieties from chocolate or vanilla, to fancy carrot, cheese, banana, fruit or mousse fillings. If you are tempted by different flavors, you can have a multi-flavored cake with different tiers in different flavors.

Wedding cakes are not something to settle on! Many bakers catering to today's bridal needs offer a host of creative services to help match their cakes to the lucky couple's taste and personality. Wedding cake bakery that no one likes will have plenty of time to dedicate to your cake, but that alone will not guarantee good results. Wedding cake decorating and design requires an ability to translate the essence of a couple's wedding into a beautiful and edible work of art for their special day.

Chocolate wedding cakes make great desserts that you can either serve on their own or with fresh fruit and cream. You can choose a chocolate cake, which is decorated in fondant for a traditional feel, or for chocoholics, have it decorated with a choice of milk, white or dark chocolate. Chocolate cake, yellow cake, fruit cake, pound cake, marble cake — the choices are literally endless! It is even possible to select more than one kind of wedding cake, and to have different kinds of cake on different layers.

Tradition says that the single women who catches the bouquet is the one who receives the bride'ss fortune and will marry next. Traditional marriage always make wedding favors as part of accessories needed in the reception. To enhance the overall look of the reception hall, different themed colors and designs are incorporated. Traditionally, the bride and the groom cut the cake together, with groom placing his right hand over the bride's right hand to cut the first slice. Then, they feed each other that first slice while everyone applauds.

Traditionally, the top tier of your cake is saved for your first anniversary or your first child's christening. Guests at the marriage would then all scramble for the broken crumbs which were seen as good luck tokens.
