He leaded the team to five playoff appearances at NBA in 1949. The Knicks had a 36-30 win-loss record at the season of 1950-51 and were also in the NBA Finals, though they did not win against Rochester Royals. The Knicks were the first to bring in a black player in the league that year, forward Nathaniel "Sweetwater" Clifton- who went on to became one of the top NBA rebounders. With center Harry "the Horse" Gallatin and guard Dick McGuire, the Knicks once again reached the NBA Finals in 1952 and 1953, though it lost both the series to Minneapolis Lakers. The Logo The original logo of Father Knickerbocker, dribbling a basketball has seen a lot of revisions. Whilst using the classic “round ball” logo, under which the Knicks won both their NBA championships, a second one “ball in the box” logo was used for Knicks tickets and club merchandise. The current triangular logo with three dimensional modernized lettering was unveiled in 1992. It was altered slightly to include the word ‘New York’ in it. Since then the triangle logo remains the Knicks primary logo, though three other secondary logos have also been used in between – Golden Anniversary, “Knicks 2000” and “Subway token” logo.
