A sensible saying teaches us that, on the street, you will not find any arbitrators, fight time meters or fight rules. Without a doubt, street fighting will not give you any opening to redressing from a serious hit in the groins, or picking your knife blade if you have dropped it. You will not even have the chance to gasp for air, unless you learn how to fight and how to give a truly difficult time to your attackers. Some of the most efficient weapons that you can use while street fighting are your own arms and legs, your palms and heels; indeed, they are the weapons that nature has given to you. For instance, have you ever considered backing off into a cat posture as you execute a frontal palm heel hit with the palm of the opposite hand? Initially, you can execute a full palm hit to a hand clutch. Then you progress to an uppercut or a straight down fist with the opposite hand as you draw your adversary into the thump. This may be helpful even if you have already taken several street fighting classes. When you learn how to fight, experimentation is the key to growing used to the moves. Even more, if you experiment, you get the chance to try variations of the moves, so that in a relatively short while, you will get not only to grow comfortable with the moves, but also to come up with your own killer strikes. For example, with the above mentioned palm hit, you may find it reasonably easy to perform if you turn the palm partly to the left or to the right. As such, the contact spot is in fact smaller than when you perform a full forward move. It appears that the palm applies on the sternum area relatively strongly. Even more, if you want to learn how to fight and actually harm your opponent, you can practice the same move with a powerful strike to manage to fracture the small bone lying on the diaphragm. Attention is necessary with the hand crooked partly to the left or to the right, as you need to align correctly your body, to coordinate it with the palm strikes. Coordination does not mean that you will move your entire body backwards, for instance, while performing the forward strike with the palm. On the contrary, I am talking about coordination of both arm and leg going backwards. For instance, if you have performed the strike with the left hand, as you pull it back, you are also drawing back the left leg from a fighting position to a cat stance. Exactly while this is happening, your right hand should execute the palm strike. On the other hand, do pay attention to the strength with which you apply this strike. Without a doubt, in street fighting circumstances, you want to hit your enemy as hard as possible. However, too hard a strike on the diaphragm could break through it, which might turn out terminal for your attacker. I understand that you want to learn how to fight to harm your adversaries, but it is preferable to experiment with such moves until you get the idea of the right pressure to apply along with the strike. Street combat situations are more numerous than what you imagine. Virtually, you are at risk with such circumstances on a daily basis. It may be difficult to be always ready with the right blade or other sort of weapon to defend yourself, but you can always trust the “weapons” that nature has given you. Coordinated palm and leg strikes are very efficient, as long as you practice enough to grow used to the moves. Finally, remember that street combat is a serious matter – your life may well depend on the manner in which you experiment with the strikes.
You never know when a street fighting situation might arise. If you choose to learn how to fight by using your natural weapons, you will always be ready to confront any adversary.
