Wake Up Dad! You're Old School! Come To The New School!

Being born in 1968, I thought I had it going on. Many events in history, The civil rights movement, the assination of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King. In 1967, little David was born out of one of the biggest snowstorms in Chicago history. My uncle always used to call me "hip". I felt it was a body part, not a phrase, you are cool.

In 1990, I got married and had children, then the vitalility and vigor was replaced with aches and pains. Still the leader and head of the household, the fight for the fountain of youth began. Whenever I talk about "remember when", my children laugh out loud so hard, I go to my room.

The age of the disco, the Soul Train era, Pop locking, break dancing, 8 trak tapes, cassette tapes, I remember. I remember Rock and Roll, Punk Rock, David Bowie, New Age and Hip Hop. I remember the TV shows Good Times, The Jeffersons, Leave It To Beaver, The Rifleman, The Partridge Family and The Brady Bunch. I remember when it was radio, then black and white TV, Color TV and now Plasma's

I remember when it was the well to do, to have cable television, a microwave oven, or a car telephone. Now it's a problem if you don't have the latest in technology. It's a shame if your children don't have their own cell phones. Text messaging, it's the new millinium version of communication. People literally go crazy if their cell phones get taken away.

Back to 2008. Not too long ago, listening to music and CD's are the norm. Now it's MP3's, CD and DVD burning and game downloads.
